We can say that alpinism - embodied by Klavdij Mlekuž, Janko Ažman, Janez Brojan, Janez Dovžan, Miha Smolej, and the late Zvone Kofler, who tragically lost his life in 1971 - reached its peak in Mojstrana during the 1970s. It was a golden era that will be hard to surpass and one that placed Mojstrana not only at the forefront of Slovenian alpinism but also at the pinnacle of Slovenian mountain rescue.
Each of these individuals has their own unique life and mountaineering story, marked by exceptional alpine achievements and successful rescue missions. Beyond their climbing careers, they made invaluable contributions - through education and other forms of service - to the continued success of the Alpine Club Dovje – Mojstrana. Without their dedication, the club would have lost visibility, vitality, and direction in many areas. Most importantly, countless generations of climbers and mountain rescuers would have grown up without the shining role models they became.
